Brisbane Galleries was opened on the 15th of October 1988 by the then Premier of Queensland The Honarable MJ Ahern MLA (Minister of the Arts and Treasurer).
The display of paintings consists of mainly Australian artists as well as European.
Aboriginal artists paintings are also on display.
Various sculptures by Australian artists are also on display.
